The Evil Within changed its release date once again, this time around for the better. Bethesda announced that the horror thriller would be coming out a little earlier than expected, on October 14.

The game was initially announced for August 29, then pushed back to October 21, and now it seems that the company decided to push forward and have the game come out on the same day in both Europe and North America.

Tango Gameworks' survival horror video game is directed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of the Resident Evil franchise, and revolves around the scene of a mass murder, with players being trapped and having to carefully use their limited supplies in order to survive.

The game is played from the third-person perspective, and players will have to scavenge for supplies and learn when to fight and when to run for their lives.

Players will step into the shoes of Detective Sebastian Castellanos, who is ambushed, and then awakens in a world of unimaginable terror, where unspeakable creatures wander among his dead colleagues.

The Evil Within is coming out on October 14 in Europe and North America, October 16 in Australia and New Zealand, and October 23 in Japan, headed to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
