Bethesda's Pete Hines has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls Online on the Xbox One will require a Xbox Live Gold subscription, on top of the game's standard subscription fee.

The Elder Scrolls Online is set to debut this year for the PC and Mac platforms at first in April, and then for PS4 and Xbox One in June.

After revealing that the PS4 edition of the game doesn't need a PlayStation Plus subscription, Bethesda's Pete Hines has confirmed on Twitter that, on the Xbox One, a Gold membership is still mandatory to access the online game.

No other details were given, but it seems that Xbox One owners who want to play The Elder Scrolls Online will need to pay the game's monthly subscription as well as the Xbox Live Gold membership in order to actually access it.
