The development team at ZeniMax Online working on The Elder Scrolls Online says that the three-faction structure of the new MMO will allow for better balancing of the experience because any dominant side will quickly become the target of the other two.

In a Question & Answer session with the fans about the core mechanics of The Elder Scrolls Online, the team explains that, "There are also scoring incentives for alliances that are tailing behind when capturing resources and keeps from the winning Alliance if the score is imbalanced."

More points are also offered to those player groups who take settlements and resources from the alliance that's pulling ahead.

The team at ZeniMax Online is also planning to add other mechanics that will make sure that all alliances have a shot at winning the global war in The Elder Scrolls Online.

The MMO will be launched in early 2014 on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
