The team at ZeniMax Online in charge of The Elder Scrolls Online is announcing that it is launching a new short story content associated with the MMO, which allows fans to compete for prizes while showing off their writing skills.

Those who are interested should head over to an official forum thread where they can deliver their creations based on the image attached to this article.

Gamers are free to create a classic short story, a journal entry or another kind of text associated with the world of The Elder Scrolls Online, and entries can be delivered until February 20 at 11:59 Eastern Time.

The developers state, "If you're one of the three winners we announce, you'll receive a $25 electronic gift certificate to the Bethesda Store and an ESO t-shirt of your choosing!"

The Elder Scrolls Online is set to go free-to-play in March of this year and it will be interesting to see whether the developers will use contests in order to try and increase player engagement with the title.

A new Crown Store is being added, which will give those interested in paying real-world money a chance to pick up items that can also be obtained via drops or can be crafted by the rest of the community.
