Developer ZeniMax Online announces that it is launching a contest for The Elder Scrolls Online that will allow fans of the coming MMO to submit their own designs for an emote that can be included in the final version of the game.

The team says, “emotes are a line of text describing an action your character takes or short animations you can order your character to perform by entering a text command. Emotes, like /laugh, /wave, and more add tons of flavor to your in-game interactions.”

Gamers have until September 27 at midnight to submit their entries via a video that must be under 60 seconds in length and needs to have the gamer describing and performing the emote that he wants to see included in The Elder Scrolls Online.

The official blog has a long list of emotes that have already been included in the MMO and cannot be submitted.

On October 11, the winners of the contest will be announced.
