The development team at ZniMax Online creating The Elder Scrolls Online says that the Orcs, which traditionally play a marginal role in the universe, are major players in the storyline via their Wrothgar kingdom.

The team explains in a fan Question & Answer session that, “the Orcs of Wrothgar have long been ambitious to have their own state, and these ambitions have been repeatedly crushed over the millennia. Their membership in the Covenant is one more attempt at organization and recognition.”

The post offers more information on the types of adventures and content that players will be able to explore and the presence of wild orcs in the mountains.

The Elder Scrolls Online will take place 1,000 years before the current timeframe of the RPGs based on the same universe.

Players will be able to try it out on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in early 2014.
