Morgan Gray, the creative director working on The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, say that the shift to third person for the title is worth it because it adds more depth to the experience.

He states on Reddit that, “With the focus on tactical combat third person let’s you see yourself, your team, the enemy, and grok the battlefield all in a single eye scan.”

The 2K Marin studio has to put in a lot of work in order to create the player animations, the cover mechanics and the squad interactions required by the shift.

The Bureau is a prequel to the XCOM series that deals with the first assault the aliens have launched against Earth.

The game is out on August 20 in North America and three days later in Europe on the PC and on current-gen consoles.
