The development team at Stoic Studio is ready to deliver a first cinematic teaser for the upcoming The Banner Saga 2, which shows a fleet of ships heading towards a waterfall that has been created by the very crust of the Earth disappearing.

The style and the graphics of the title seem like a direct evolution of those of the first entry in the series, and fans who played the first title will also get some hints about the possible story of the sequel.

The Banner Saga 2 was announced in late 2014 and will probably be launched either late this year or early in 2016, although no platforms have been revealed so far.

No details about the story it will tell or the new gameplay mechanics have been offered either, although Stoic has said it will introduce a new playable race, the Horseborn, which seem to be centaur-like creatures that move in bands and have new capabilities.

The Banner Saga offered a very cool narrative experience and had a unique and engaging battle system.

The unique selling point of the game was that, no matter how successful the player was, his forces and capabilities were constantly dwindling and had to be very carefully managed.
