Team17, the company most famous for making the insanely fun and popular Worms series, has decided to take on publishing efforts for tiny indie game The Escapists.

The Escapists is a fun little prison break game developed by the same team who also made Spud's Quest, indie developer Mouldy Toof.

The game was up on Kickstarter with a very modest goal, and it tries to evoke the tension involved in meticulously planning and carrying out an escape plan.

Players will have to work around tight prison schedules, craft weapons and tools using everyday items, interact with fellow inmates and guards in order to gain favor and earn jobs and assistance, engage in combat and ultimately dig a hidden escape tunnel, complete with timber supports and light sources.

Users will also be able to train their character during their free periods, either by visiting the gym or the library, to gain the appropriate skills that will help them survive inside the prison and allow their escape plan to come to fruition.

The game looks and feels like a sort of goal-oriented Terraria, seen from a top-down perspective, and for now it has no release date other than later in 2014.
