SpecialEffect, publisher SEGA and developer Valve announce that the first Team Fortress 2 item linked to a charitable cause is now available in the official store of the free-to-play title.

The Virtual View Finder can be purchased for 3.99 dollars or 3.59 Euro from the Mann Co. Store and has been created using the Workshop service.

The charity will use the funds in order to improve the lives of disabled gamers.

Mark Saville, communications officer at SpecialEffect, states, “This is a huge day for us in terms of how the gaming community is able to support our work helping people with disabilities to play video games. It’s the first in-game donation stream that we’ve had, and we’re excited that gamers now have such a direct and engaging way of helping.”

Two other items linked to charity will be launched in Team Fortress 2.
