DrinkBox Studio, an independent video game developer, has announced that it plans to have a launch title ready for the release date of the PlayStation Vita from Sony, allowing gamers to enjoy a side scrolling puzzle platformer with a unique style.

The player will control a mutant blob that needs to escape from a lab that is styled based on retro science fiction movies and much of the story is linked to Tales from Space: About a Blob, a game which was launched on the PSN during 2011.

Ryan MacLean, who is the Chief Executive Officer at DrinkBox Studios, stated, “We are all very excited about PlayStation Vita and to be part of the launch. The system's next generation features have allowed us to really think outside of the box while developing Mutant Blobs Attack - it feels as though the technology has in some areas exceeded that of its console counterpart. We've had a lot of fun creating the game and we're working hard to get it out as soon as possible!”
