Take-Two Interactive, the company behind the 2K Games publishing label and partner for Grand Theft Auto 5 developer Rockstar, has confirmed that it's working on a groundbreaking new intellectual property.

The new product will appear for next-generation consoles like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox 720.

A new wave of consoles is coming, and Take-Two is hedging its bets by preparing to release Grand Theft Auto 5 on the current PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in order to reach a wider market.

Now, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick confirmed in a conference call, via CVG, that the company has in development a "groundbreaking new intellectual property" for next-generation consoles like the PS4 and Xbox 720.

What's more, he also promised investors that new releases from "proven franchises" will also come out for the new devices, so Take-Two has its next financial year covered, especially since GTA 5 is going to appear in September.
