Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is making its way to the PlayStation Vita, expected to reach handhelds in Europe, Australia and New Zealand in July.

The game will be released exclusively on Sony's PlayStation Vita handheld gaming console, as a digital download, by Bandai Namco Games Europe.

The game is based on the popular Sword Art Online universe, and has players enter the world of SAO only to discover that the game's creator has been locked inside without any possibility of logging out, as revealed on the PlayStation Blog.

The story will follow Kirito, as he fights and makes his way through the perilous VR world that he is a prisoner of, encountering many familiar characters from the game, manga and anime during his adventure.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is designed to simulate a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, allowing players to team up and go on raids and quests together, even via ad-hoc multiplayer supporting up to four people.

The game challenges its users to master its intricate combo system in order to pull off amazing attacks, and to battle the most dangerous of bosses.

In addition to this, Bandai Namco is also including an HD version of Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, a game that has not been released outside of Japan yet, in order to offer the greatest Sword Art Online experience on the PlayStation Vita.
