14 DAY TRIAL // Video game publisher Capcom and Virgin Gaming announce that it is now possible to bet actual cash on online matches of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, with the initiative designed to replicate some part of the classic arcade experience that the fighting game series offered.
Gamers on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft will be able to compete in one against one matches in 32-player leagues.
In the official announcement on the Capcom Unity blog, developer Peter Rosas states, “Since each game was pay to play, every win felt that much more euphoric as I watched my defeated opponent have to pony up more money, whereas each loss stung that much more as I felt my pockets running out of coins.”
Capcom believes that cash betting for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will lead to a revival in interest for the title.
