In order to showcase how player created characters would look in the new Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U the developers used the iconic helmet of Meta Knight, prompting the community of fans to talk about why the character would not be included in the coming title.

But it seems that the company is actually introducing the Kirby character in the game and the official Miiiverse of director Masahiro Sakurai states that, “’Looks like there was an impostor in the earlier posts, so I introduced him to my sword!’ ...I'll leave it up to your imagination if he really said that or not. The veteran hero, Meta Knight, returns to battle!! We didn't forget the Battleship Halberd either!!”

In the previous installment in the series Meta Knight was unbalanced and a lot of official competitions banned his use because of his higher than average speed, attack power and aerial moves.

Sakurai says that the special move of the character, the Shuttle Loop, has changed significantly for Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U and now no longer includes a glide but slashes opponents twice while spinning.

Super Smash Bros. will be launched on the 3DS in less than one month in Japan and a date for the Nintendo home console has not yet been clear revealed.
