The development team at Nintendo announces that the upcoming Super Smash Bros. fighting game for the Wii U will allow gamers to use the Miis associated with the Nintendo home console during combat, with a wide variety of choices about their powers and combat styles.

The E3 2014 presentation from the company started by showing both Reggie Fils-Aime, the leader of the North American division of the company, and Satoru Iwata locked in combat in real life before they used the Wii U to settle their differences.

The Miis that will be included in the new Super Smash Bros. will be able to choose from three core specializations – brawler, gunners armed with cannons and swordsmen with close quarters weaponry.

Once a category is chosen, gamers will be able to select their special moves, with a wide variety of combinations offered up to a total of 36.

Nintendo says that the Mii system can be used by gamers to create a wide variety of characters and means that the development team will be able to focus on the core game systems.

NFC figures will also be supported by Super Smash Bros. and more details will be offered as the title gets closer to launch date.
