Developer Firefly Studios has announced the upcoming release of their medieval strategy title Stonghold Crusader 2, coming this summer for PC.

"Releasing in the summer is a little later than we had initially hoped, but once again our intention is to release a game that lives up to the Crusader name," the indie developer explains on the Stronghold Crusader 2 website.

"We're at a point now where we can dip into skirmish mode or a multiplayer game during lunch and have fun, which is a fantastic feeling for the team," the dev states, informing that the game is currently going through fine-tuning.

Many tweaks are made to the various new units and siege equipment that players will soon use to wage war online, and the team wants to use the remaining time to work on reducing the number of bugs and potential crashes before launch, as well as refine the core gameplay that makes the game so fun.

Firefly Studios has released the final box art, seeing Richard the Lionheart returning to the desert once again. An exact launch date will be revealed closer to the game's release.
