Capcom's reboot of the beloved vertical platformer Strider just received its Japanese release date for the Xbox 360, and it will be coming out on February 26.

Capcom has not revealed the North American release of the game yet, which is strange considering that Xbox Live Arcade games usually have a simultaneous international launch, as Siliconera informs.

Developer Double Helix's remake of the arcade classic will have protagonist Strider Hiryu moving at up to eight times the speed in the original game, making for even more frantic gameplay.

Strider will launch for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms just a couple of days before its Xbox 360 release, on February 22, and the PS3 retail version will also contain a code for the download of the PlayStation one game Strider 1 & 2, from the PlayStation Store.

There is also an e-Capcom limited edition that includes the PS3 version of the game and the download code, along with a special theme, an illustrated chronicle book, three soundtrack CDs and several more goodies.

Strider will also be released for Xbox One and PC, but the actual dates have not yet been disclosed.
