Video game publisher Capcom has released a short live action trailer for a film that will be used to promote Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, the upcoming mech-based game from developer From Software.

The live action movie will be directed by Mamoru Oshii, who is best known for his work in the anime field, and currently lacks a clear launch date.

It will tell the story of a team of mech drivers and their exploits on the battlefield.

Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor will use the Kinect motion tracking system from Microsoft in order to allow players to use their hands to direct the complex control system of the battle robots.

The game will start with an assault by Vertical Tanks on the shores of New York and will be a spiritual successor to the first game in the series.

At the moment, the game is set to be launched on June 19 in North America and three days later in Europe.
