Lars Gustavsson, a creative director working at DICE, believes that the recently announced SteamOS and accompanying hardware from Valve are good news for gaming because they expand the number of opportunities that players have to enjoy their favorite content.

It’s unclear whether his studio will create a special version of the new Battlefield 4 that will use all the new features.

He tells Polygon that, “I do think with streaming services and new input devices and so on, it wouldn't surprise me if there is less need of hardware and more on demand gaming experience.”

Battlefield 4 will be offered on October 25 in North American and three days later in Europe, on the PC and current-gen consoles, with versions for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 ready for the launch of the hardware.
