Valve's Steam service is currently holding its traditional Winter Sale, and this has gotten many users to constantly check the new deals, leading to a new record of concurrent users of 7.6 million, 600,000 more than the previous milestone.

The Steam service offers access to all sorts of digital games across the PC, Mac, and Linux platforms, meaning gamers can easily buy through it many different titles.

Now, in the last couple of weeks, Valve has organized the traditional Winter Sale and it's already brought some huge deals.

As further testimony to the service's popularity, the Steam Stats page now shows a brand new concurrent user milestone of 7,678,555.

The previous record was set at the beginning of the month, during the Autumn Sale, when around 7 million users logged in to see the big discounts.

Currently, Steam has around 70 million registered users all around the world.
