The development team at Undead Labs is currently working on a new Pure Survival sandbox mode for its very successful State of Decay video game in order to give players a more open experience after they finish the single-player story.

Jeff Strain, one of the founders of the studio, tells Polygon that, “I think people take between 15 and 25 hours to play theentire game, and we found that after that, players are immediately restarting. Every playthrough is different, but the story is the same every time.”

Pure Survival for State of Decay is throwing player character in the game world and challenges them to hold out against the zombies for as long as they can.

The team will track elements like how many resources they are gathering and how they manage to stay alive.
