14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer and publisher Stardock announces that it has secured the right to the Star Control franchise and has plans to reboot it entirely with a new title that will be suited to the expectations of modern strategy gamers.
Brad Wardell, the leader of the company, states that, “We expect the new Star Control to come in the form of a reboot, similar to what Firaxis did with the XCOM series last year.”
He adds, “We are looking at Star Control II as a major source of inspiration.”
The Star Control reboot will enter development this year and an announcement about an actual launch date and the platforms used will be made in 2014.
Three Star Control titles have been released so far, all praised for their depth and for their replay value.
