Star Citizen has been having an outstanding success as it has reached the incredible sum of $25 / €18 million in crowdfunding.

Chairman Chris Roberts posted a letter giving thanks to all Star Citizen fans and telling that this will help build a stronger infrastructure for the game alpha test. Therefore, the developing team will construct a wider alpha test than they had originally planned for the game's first launch.

His words were “This funding will allow us to invest in a wider infrastructure for our early testing, spinning up remote servers earlier. Hitting this goal will also allow us to increase the number of remaining alpha slots. Extra alpha slots not only means more Star Citizens will travel the ‘verse at launch, but that we will receive more feedback and more stress testing. This in turn will allow us to better balance and enhance the Star Citizen experience!”

They are currently trying to find the best way to make things possible and have another stretch goal of $27 / € 19 million. If they manage to obtain the sum, the Banu Merchant will be unlocked, meaning they will be expanding the Banu technology so that players may experience the universe in a different way, just like they did with the Xi'An spacecraft.

Although the developers have fully funded the base game, they are still excited about every extra dollar they get since it will help improve the Star Citizen even more.
