Square Enix announced Final Fantasy fans that the beta for the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn would be at their disposal on February 22.

The online role-playing game was launched two months ago on PC and PlayStation 3 and since then, a number of 1.5 million people have registered to play.

This represents the combined total across Europe, North America, Japan as well as other PAL territories. One has to know that it also includes player registrations for both PC and PS3.

Gamers should remember that subscriptions start at $8.98 / €8.98 a month as well as the fact that the game comes with a free trial of 30 days for all new accounts.

Moreover, Square Enix announced that patch 2.1, the first content update, would be released in December 2013 and will include brand new dungeons and player housing as well as the player versus player battle arena.

Don't forget that the World Transfer Service, that lets gamers transfer their characters to another world, will go live this week.
