Jade Raymond, the leader of the development team at Ubisoft Toronto, says that she is exploring the concept of user-created content for the upcoming Splinter Cell: Blacklist, allowing players to enhance the game world.

VG247 quotes the developer as saying that, “I do think games and franchises need to include more user content.”

She adds, “If we do it intelligently, we could have a lot more content with what other people are creating. They’re making more interesting for each other, and also gratifying themselves.”

Raymond references Team Fortress 2 from Valve as a game that successfully managed to create a community that can enhance the player experience.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist was initially set to launch in late 2012, but it is now scheduled for a release in late August, on the PC and on home consoles.
