Namco Bandai enforces some limits on free players, that can be lifted with purchases

Namco Bandai has recently launched the free-to-play title Soulcalibur: Lost Swords, playing like a sort of single-player campaign that features many of the series' popular characters.

The game, however, features a number of microtransactions, as Siliconera informs, similar to how the company's other free-to-play game Tekken Revolution is supported by in-game transactions rather than a single payment up front.

Although the game does not charge you in order to play it, it does offer some convenient items that can help improve its gameplay.

Players can buy Treasure Boxes, offering a random rare weapon or armor, Action Point recovery potions that allow them to take on more quests, Continue Tickets that allow them to continue the current quest after the game over screen, keeping all the found items and enemy status exactly the way they were.

Players can also increase the maximum number of allies, as well as the maximum number of equipment and items, raising the limits the free-to-play version enforces.

Soulcalibur: Lost Swords is already available in Japan, with a scheduled release for the PlayStation 3 in Europe sometime this spring.
