SoulCalibur V is shaping up to be a pretty good-looking fighting game and, in order to properly highlight its story, Namco Bandai has just posted a cinematic trailer with the two characters that grace the game’s cover.

The SoulCalibur series has been dormant for quite some time, with Namco Bandai examining the current generation of fighting games and trying to deliver an enhanced experience that relies on swords and other weapons besides punches and supernatural powers.

Now, with SoulCalibur V, the Japanese company is looking poised to win back lots of fighting game fans, and even has some unique cameos, like Ezio Auditore from the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

For a glance at just how powerful some of the swords in the game are, as well as a hint about the main conflict in the new title, check out the cinematic trailer above and get ready for SoulCalibur V’s release on January 31, in North America, and February 2, in Europe.
