The development team at Airtight Games is announcing that its new project is called Soul Fjord, which is expected to launch exclusively on the new Ouya home console.

The new game mixes ‘70s funk, soul and blacksploitation with Norse mythology.

Players will take on the role of Magnus Jones, who is simply looking to get into Valhalla, the hottest club for those slain in battle, but he won’t be admitted before he proves his worth once again by battling Loki and a range of other fantastic creatures.

The game uses randomly generated dungeons and has dungeon crawler mechanics with a delightful yet simple art style.

Airtight Games is led by Kim Swift, the developer who created the original idea on which Portal is based.

Ouya is an Android-based console that will be launched in the summer of this year.
