14 DAY TRIAL // The team at Sony working on gaming hardware has registered a trademark for the device called the Flat Joystick Controller, which might be a Move-like device that could be linked to the PlayStation 4 home console.
The official description for the device states, “A touch surface is disposed on one side of the handle. The touch surface has an indicator that is identified by a surface characteristic on the touch surface. The touch surface provides an area for receiving directionality control in response to interfacing by a finger of a user.”
The Flat Joystick Controller from Sony also has a number of buttons and is designed to make it easier for players to control video games by mixing motions of their hand and presses, according to CVG.
Sony has not commented on the trademark or on its potential uses.
