One of the biggest features that are set to be added to the PlayStation 4 home console in the fall via the 2.0 firmware is Share Play, a new option that allows any players to share a game experience with a friend and even take control of his game.

Now, Sony confirms that the new concept will be limited to 60-minute periods after which the two players will be automatically disconnected, although the company says that there's no limit on the number of sessions that two players can engage in.

Progress will be saved in Share Play on the PlayStation 4 to make it easy to get through story-based experiences.

Shuhei Yoshida, the leader of Sony Worldwide Studios, is quoted by Gamespot as saying that, "How it works is, for example, say, a friend has a game that I don't. I ask them to let me play it, and if they send me an invitation, I can access their PS4 and play while watching the video that is streamed."

At the moment, Share Play and the entire 2.0 firmware update for the PlayStation 4 do not have a clear launch late. The update will also include major changes to the media player capabilities of the device.
