The company's R&D team is "committed to innovation"

The PlayStation research and development team is apparently looking to improve the PlayStation 4 SKD, in order to aid application makers create better and better software.

A new job listing on the PlayStation website informs of the fact that the PlayStation R&D team wants to recruit an engineer who will become very familiarized with the PlayStation SDK, and will help developers understand how they can utilize it better and unlock its potential.

The candidate that Sony is looking for will also work on new features for the platform, with examples being provided in the form of improvements to the PlayStation Network SDK, along with companion devices and Cloud services.

The developers who have already worked with the PlayStation 4 said that it was easier to implement for than the Xbox One, and the Naughty Dog team implied that porting The Last of Us from the PlayStation 3 to the PlayStation 4 was challenging but rewarding, and that they loved working with the PS4.

Both Microsoft and Sony seem to be aware of the fact that in order to thrive, they need to constantly perfect their hardware platforms and software tools, and that offering proper support to developers who want to deliver to their platforms is crucial to the success of both the PlayStation 4 as well as the Xbox One.
