The Japanese market is unique because of limited streaming presence

Sony has delivered a successful launch for its PlayStation Vita TV device on the Japanese market and it seems that the company is at the moment working on a solid strategy that can deliver the same result in the United States and in Europe.

Andre House, the leader of the Sony division in the EU, tells Eurogamer that, “The positioning of Vita TV may be different between Japan and some of the other markets.”

He says that Japan was a great test because streaming solutions are less popular there and Sony managed to see how the Vita TV would fare in such an environment.

The executive also hints that Sony might integrate the new device into a wider ecosystem that also includes the PlayStation Vita handheld and the newly released PlayStation 4 home console.

The Vita TV is not yet officially confirmed for markets outside of Japan.
