Sony is preparing to pull the plug for the multiplayer modes of some popular titles during the first half of 2014.

The PlayStation 3 support for online game features page warned of this in late October, and for everyone still wanting to partake into some sweet multiplayer action in these games, the next couple of months will be the last opportunity to do so.

The announcement lists January 28 as the last day when MAG, SOCOM: Special Forces and SOCOM: Confrontation fans will be able to go head-to-head on Sony's servers.

On March 28, Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2 and Resistance 3 will go offline, but their single-player campaigns will still work.

Gran Turismo 5 is scheduled to get the boot on May 20, but by then there will be some alternatives for driving enthusiasts, namely Driveclub and Gran Turismo 6.

The games will still be available for offline play though, all of them except MAG and SOCOM: Confrontation, which do not have offline modes and will sadly become completely unplayable.
