Video game hardware developer and publisher Sony has announced that it will launch a home network media hub called “nasne” on the Japanese market during the summer of this year, allowing customers to link it to the PlayStation 3 home console and the PlayStation Vita handheld.

The new device will include a 500 GB hard drive and “a digital terrestrial and satellite broadcasting tuner” which gives users options when wanting to “record digital terrestrial and satellite television through a dedicated application”.

The new nasne can also stream both live and recorded television content on two separated Sony devices at the same time.

An external hard drive can also be connected to the new device in order to get more space to store shows and other content.

At the moment nasne is planned to launch only on the Japanese market and will arrive on July 19 for the price of 16,980 Yen, which is about 210 dollars.
