The development team at Big Red Button and publisher SEGA are continuing their marketing push for the new Sonic Boom spin-off, and they are now releasing a new trailer for the Wii U title Rise of Lyric, designed to offer some more information on the main villain that gamers will have to deal with.

The video shows limited footage taken from the actual game and features almost none of the trademark gameplay that players have come to associate with the series.

In the new Sonic Boom series, the core characters have been redesigned to focus more on their physical attributes and their action capabilities.

Sonic and his companions, including the new Sticks, will be able to defeat robotic enemies and use a new energobeam in order to solve puzzles and explore the environments.

Collaboration between the characters is important, and during E3 2014, SEGA has explained that it wants to reach an entirely new audience with the new gameplay mechanics it has created for the spin-off.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric will be launched at some point in November of this year on the Wii U, and a companion game called Shattered Crystal will be offered at the same time on the 3DS handheld.
