The development team at SEGA working on the new Sonic Boom video game announces that the coming title includes a new character called Sticks, a jungle badger who has lived for a long time alone in the wilderness.

The new addition will join already established team members Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy and will appear in the new television series, the Wii U and the 3DS video games, and in a variety of merchandise.

Hiroyuki Miyazaki, the chief content officer for the Sonic Brand at SEGA of America, is quoted by the official blog as saying that, "Sticks is a significant addition to the Sonic Boom universe and the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. She brings a quirky personality and perspective to the team dynamic, and we look forward to sharing this energetic and funny new character with the world."

The team explains that Sticks is a primal character, able to use her sharp survival skills and her ferocity to stay alive in even the toughest of situations.

The jungle badger will be able to use handmade weapons, with the most impressive of them being a handmade boomerang that is very accurate.

Stick will bond quickly with Amy in Sonic Boom and she is also designed to add humor to the coming TV series and video games.
