Sniper Elite 3 is set to launch on the PC and PlayStation 4 during 2014 and the development team is taking the unusual step of moving the action of the first-person shooter to North Africa, where players will be able to enjoy bigger open areas.

Jason Kingsley, the chief executive officer at developer Rebellion, tells VG247 that, “Sniper Elite 3 takes place among the varied exotic locales of the North African theatre of WW2 which has not been extensively explored in games but was actually historically pivotal to the whole conflict.”

Long-range kill shots are the main element of Sniper Elite 3 and African landscapes, which tend to be flat and well lit, allowing players to set up impressive scenarios.

Rebellion will also improve the experience by making it harder for the A.I. to spot the player. This means that snipping will never turn into a brutal firefight.
