It would appear that the alleged re-release of the open-world martial arts cop drama action adventure video game Sleeping Dogs for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 systems is actually happening, and it's heading our way this October.

A listing of the game, dubbed Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, was discovered on Amazon earlier today, and it seems like it's the real deal.

According to the accompanying promotional image from publisher Square Enix, the Definitive Edition includes the wealth of donwloadable content released for the original game, which was rebuilt for current-gen systems, and that is likely an indication that the action adventure game will look much better than it did on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

There is however no information regarding the subject so far, and it's also unclear how much better the title might look when compared to the already spiffy PC version.

The only version shown on Amazon so far is the $60 / €45 limited edition, that will be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms on October 14, coming with a special art book featuring 28 pages of gorgeous Sleeping Dogs concept art.

The game was met with praise on release in 2012 and seems to be part of the surging trend to remaster notable past experiences for the current generation of consoles, so get ready to see more in the coming months.
