Video game developer Bethesda has launched an update for the 1.4 beta patch that is now available for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim via Steam.

The developers mention the following changes:

- an audio problem that made the sound effects play louder than intended has been fixed; - the Master Criminal achievement is now ready to unlock correctly in French, German, Spanish and Italian; - the masks of the Dragon Priests are now rendered correctly in all situations; - players are now able to get the title of Thane of Riften even if they buy the house in the town first.

Bethesda says that the beta patch will be offered via Steam for a few days more while the team makes sure that it is all working as intended and will then be sent to both Microsoft and Sony for certification and release.

It’s not clear how long the process will take and when Xbox 360 and PS3 players are able to enjoy a bug-free Skyrim experience.
