The development team at Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are releasing update 3.0 for SimCity, designed to fix a number of issues with the core game while also adding 24 new hotel buildings for players to use.

The team states in the official announcement that, “Our commitment to SimCity is to keep on building. Case in point – we released Update 3.0 yesterday, which contained a number of fixes, improvements, and even new hotels.”

The full patch notes are available on the official website and most of the fixes are linked to the traffic engine.

Players should see vehicles moving quicker through the city and the Maxis team is also changing mechanics for residential, commercial and industrial zoning.

SimCity had big server-related problems on launch and EA has promised to support the game until all core features are working as designed.
