Game game will get more improvements in coming months

The recently launched SimCity is more akin to an MMO than to a traditional single-player experience, according to the leading developer working on it.

Lucy Bradshaw, the general manager of the Maxis studio, tells an official Electronic Arts blog that, "The game we launched is only the beginning for us – it’s not final and it never will be. In many ways, we built an MMO."

Because the game is built on relationships between cities and players, it needs to be constantly connected to the servers, which might be a problem for some gamers.

At the same time, the MMO-like structure of SimCity gives the team the chance to constantly improve it and deliver new content.

A number of players have asked Maxis to create a completely offline version of the game, but the team says the game architecture makes that almost impossible.
