After plenty of speculation and rumors, the Silent Hills project announced by Konami's Hideo Kojima and Hollywood's Guillermo del Toro is now officially cancelled, as Konami isn't going to move forward with the survival horror game.

The Silent Hill series delivered some really impressive survival horror experiences over the years, but in recent times, things haven't gone so well for the franchise maintained by Konami.

However, in August of 2014, thanks to the innovative P.T. interactive trailer, Konami, its famous designer Hideo Kojima, and Hollywood director Guillermo del Toro revealed Silent Hills, a new game that was set to feature actor Norman Reedus.

The title has since entered a cone of shadow, and after some speculation over the weekend, Konami has just stepped forward to confirm that the Silent Hills project is no more.

The game has officially been cancelled, but the Japanese publisher confirms that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are still in talks about a possible collaboration in regards to the Silent Hill franchise.

Unfortunately, however, there are no new details to share right now, so don't expect to hear and see anything about it for quite some time.

No reason was given for the cancellation, and considering Konami's secretive nature, it's unlikely that any details will be offered officially.
