Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Gods & Kings, the turn-based strategy expansion from Firaxis and 2K Games, is getting an ON for Learning Award from Common Sense Media, for the way it has managed to blend complex gameplay with educational elements and historical information.

The team writes on its official Facebook page that, “That means we've received their highest rating for a product that is both engaging AND educational.”

Gods & Kings for Civilization V introduces religion and spying to the game, expanding the number of options that a player can use to improve the situation of their civilization and reach one of the victory conditions.

At the moment, Firaxis is working on the second expansion for its turn-based strategy, Brave New World, which will launch during summer and will add a number of mechanics that will enhance the end game.
