Sid Meier, the leader of the development team at Firaxis, says that creating video games is the best job in the world, especially for a veteran who has seen the industry evolve along with him.

He tells Gamasutra that “Making games is a really cool combination of creativity and science, or certainty. Being able to watch a game grow and evolve is probably the most satisfying thing - to see it change from a vague idea to something that's concrete and fun, to see it come to life hopefully better than you imagined.”

Sid Meier is involved with all projects at Firaxis, including XCOM: Enemy Unknown and the Brave New World expansion for Civilization V.

But he admits that, at the moment, most of his time is occupied by work on smaller titles where he can do actual coding, like the recently released Ace Patrol, which is available on mobiles.
