The development team at The Creative Assembly has launched another trailer for the Fall of the Samurai standalone expansion for their strategy game Total War: Shogun 2, showing the technological innovations that players will be able to experience as the fight for the future of Japan moves to the XIX century.

Fall of the Samurai is the Total War game that comes closest to the modern age and this means that the Japanese samurai will have to deal with a number of innovations on the battlefield, from repeating rifles to artillery with much better targeting abilities.

The trailer also shows how gamers can use a new third-person mode to control ships and artillery fire in support of their own troops.

The Fall of the Samurai expansion will be delivered exclusively via digital distribution on March 23.

Those who only get the standalone package will be able to engage in multiplayer matches with those who own the original release of Shogun 2.
