The game universe has seen little change since it was created

Jordan Weisman, the creator of Shadowrun the leading developer at Harebrained Games, says that he does not plan to annoy fans by changing significant elements of the game world for the coming Returns video game.

He admits that some elements of the universe that he has created 25 years ago are now seen as wrong or anachronistic but he also admits that he does not want to be seen as George Lucas by his fan base.

He says, “So it’s been an interesting process of updating the absolutely minimal possible that we felt would be a suspension-of-disbelief breaker for a new audience.”

The creator of Star Wars is widely disparaged by fans because of the changes he has done to the original trilogy in subsequent releases, including the Han Shot first moment.

Shadowrun Returns comes to the PC and tablets next month.
