Developer Cliffhanger Productions has added a new business model for its upcoming Shadowrun Online, allowing gamers to pay 25 dollars in order to use the Campaign Model, thus enabling people to pay for the game just once in order to own it and play it forever.

Jan Wagner, the co-founder of Cliffhanger Productions, stated, “Our Kickstarter project was off to a good start, but some fans were hesitant to back it due to the way we wanted to deliver the game or our revenue model."

He added, "We have added the campaign model and client as an alternative to address that. Some backers stated that they preferred different gameplay styles to the classic MMO or PvP games."

The model used is similar to that which Guild Wars 2 employs, and the expectation is that it will attract more fans to the Kickstarter page, which is about one third of the way to the stated goal with about 20 days to go.

The development team has also introduced more information about the game and a new video which shows what players can expect.
