Shadow Warrior is coming out on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer, and it appears that its marketing people are up to speed with all the current trends.

As such, the game will run at a resolution of 1080p and 60 frames per second on Sony's home entertainment system, and at 900p with 60 frames per second on Microsoft's next-gen console.

The game is a first-person shooter released for the PC last year, made by Flying Wild Hog, and published by Devolver Digital. It was the reboot of 1997's cult classic from 3D Realms, and it turned out pretty ok.

"Shadow warrior is a fast paced game, so it was very important to have 60 fps. Also, we didn't want to cut any graphic features, so we decided to use 900p with 60fps," Krzysztof Narkowicz, lead engine programmer at Flying Wild Hog, reveals about the Xbox One port in an interview with GamingBolt.

Narkowicz has mentioned that the main challenge when porting the PlayStation 4 version of Shadow Warrior was working with the CPU. This was because their engine didn't scale for more than 2-4 cores, which required a change of threading architecture and the complete reconstruction of some of the parts of the engine in order to accommodate the 8 cores that the PS4 sports.

Shadow Warrior will be released on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms later this summer.
