Microsoft has begun to send messages to Xbox One owners who expected the outage of the Xbox Live online service during the Titanfall release of March 11, confirming that they'll soon receive seven days of extra Gold membership.

Titanfall finally came out last month on the PC and Xbox One platforms and, as you can imagine, a few launch day problems appeared, either due to the game's infrastructure not withstanding the influx of users, or due to separate issues with the likes of Xbox Live Gold.

Now, it seems that Microsoft wants to make it up to Xbox One owners who encountered the outage and has begun sending them messages apologizing for the inconvenience. What's more, those affected will get seven days of extra Xbox Live Gold membership in the near future.

Reddit members who got the message have said that they didn't file a complaint or a support ticket so it seems that Microsoft is checking its internal logs to see just which Xbox One owners tried to connect to the service and failed due to the outage, in order to avoid any fraudulent claims.

As of yet, Microsoft hasn't commented officially on this way of making up to users.
